Greed: No More Expensive Manis!

Are you kinda broke? Do you have ugly nails? Do you hate spending money to have someone do your nails for you and then you immediately chip them while getting your keys out of your purse? If you answered “no” to all of those questions, then we can’t be friends. BUT if you answered “yes” to some of them, then you’re in luck!

I’ve discovered an incredible product that will actually make you want to do your own nails:

These strips are so ridiculously easy to use, and they come in all kinds of colors and prints. I tried to take pictures of my nails to show you the process, but it’s actually really hard to take a picture when you only have 2 hands, and no friends to do it for you :-/ So, someone buy me a camera with a self timer ok?? (or some friends)

But, anyway, all you have to do is peel the backing off these things, stick them to your nails, and use the buffer to take off the extra. They are easily removed with nail polish remover, and if you do it right and take care of it, it can last almost 2 weeks, which is just as long as a gel manicure but without the damage (and the $45 bill).

Not bad, huh? This is before I learned the “pretty way” to take pictures of your own nails…don’t worry, I won’t make that mistake again!

Sally Hansen Salon Effects: $8.99

Salon Manicure: $25-$45 (plus tip)

Plus, you don’t have to worry about anyone giving you grief for your bad cuticles, or worrying if they’re saying bad things about you in another language.

Perfect for: girls who can’t paint their own nails without looking like they dipped their hand in a can of Behr’s.

Greed: Gym? HA!

I first joined a gym in college (where it was free), and have been a big fan ever since. Where else can you go to lie on a mat listening to your ipod, pretending to do crunches? But once I started having to actually pay to go watch tv while running (walking) on a treadmill, I decided it wasn’t as fun anymore. Well, I’m not paying for a gym membership anymore! I have finally discovered the ultimate at-home workout. I’ve tried a LOT of workout videos over the years, and I usually end up sitting on my couch during the 3rd rep of lunges eating a protein bar and fast forwarding to the cool down. Well, now I’ve found a workout that fits my short attention span and general aversion to weights…ready? It’s INSANITY!

Yes, you’ve seen the infomercials. You probably watched it and thought, “those people are crazy.” Well, they are. But it works!! I swear, for the first time ever, I’ve actually stuck with a workout routine…I think it’s because there is so much variety. There are like 8 or 10 different dvds and each workout is circuit training–so you do 3-4 minutes of intense cardio and then rest for 30 seconds. You repeat the same circuit 3 times, then move on to something else. I seriously HATE cardio, and I LOVE this workout. Also, I love that I found it in my parent’s garage so it was free for me! I bet you could find it on Amazon for a pretty reasonable price. If Shaun T can’t motivate you, then I don’t know what will. This guy is FINE.

…and he kinda looks like a vampire in this photo…but hey, that works for some people!
